Mahi Pono marked a major milestone with the completion of its first commercial harvest of Hawaiʻi-grown mandarins, furthering the company's mission to increase local food production and strengthen Hawaiʻi's food security.  A portion of this initial harvest will be distributed to select schools across the state, providing keiki with fresh, locally grown fruit.  In addition, the mandarins will be available for purchase under Mahi Pono's "Maui Harvest" brand at select local retailers, including Island Grocery Depot on Maui, KTA Super Stores on Hawaiʻi Island, and commissary stores on Oʻahu.

Members and guests of the Lahaina Rotary Club recently toured Mahi Pono's operations, which included visits to the fields and packing facility.  During the tour, members learned about Mahi Pono and Maui Harvest's production of high-quality local crops that help reduce Hawaii's reliance on imports.

Members of the House Finance Committee visited Mahi Pono and several other organizations on Maui to discuss community needs, review ongoing initiatives, and identify key priorities for the upcoming legislative session.  During the visit, members learned about Mahi Pono's efforts to increase local food production, create sustainable jobs, and strengthen Maui's economy.
